Get Ready for a Festive Celebration: St. Patrick’s Day Parade is Back in Prague’s Heart!

The Czech-Irish Business and Cultural Association (CIBCA), in collaboration with the Irish Embassy in the Czech Republic, is thrilled to announce that Prague’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place this year on March 16th. This year’s event is set to be the biggest parade that the city has ever witnessed.
The parade will ignite the spirit of the Czech-Irish community from across the nation, showcasing more than 50 groups that will come together to celebrate Irish traditions, music, and dance.
Staying true to tradition, the parade will kick off at Wenceslas Square at 14:15, with participants gathering from 14:00. The procession will make its way through the city’s streets, concluding with an exciting gathering at Old Town Square, where the festivities will continue.
Participating in the parade is an outstanding array of Irish dance groups, including the TJ Academy of Irish Dance, Sona Sól Veselá Kopýtka, Rinceoirí, Coiscéim, inSpiral, and Gall Tír.
The Irish Wolfhound Group will be present to add an authentic touch of Irish culture, while Celtic music will fill the air with performances from bands such as Shannon and Foggy Dude.
Among other noteworthy participants are the Prague Irish Set Dancers, Sally O’Brien Irish Pub, lead piper Chip Doehring, The Wild Geese Society, the Prague Kids GAA Club, and, of course, St. Patrick himself, who will be mingling with Parisians and may even take a photo or two with attendees.
“Everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day. The best way to join in the festivities this year is by wearing green, white, and orange, which are the national colors of Ireland,” said Darragh Price from the CIBCA parade organizing committee.
