Learn about the history of black gold in Mayrovka

Mayrau open-air museum dedicated to coal mining can be found in the village of Vinařice in the Kladno region. The museum was created in the 1990s thanks to the dedication of many mining history enthusiasts. The extensive exposition shows the operation of the mine as if the miners had left only yesterday.. There are models of mine workings, lamps, mineralogical findings. There is also a small show of measuring and rescue equipment. A visit to a number of technical monuments, including a demonstration of underground coal mining or a walk along the mining trails is definitely worth a visit. The exhibition will be guided by former miners – passionate practitioners! When visiting the open-air museum, you will learn that horses were also long-time helpers in underground transport. After the tour, you can also take a walk on the nature trail along forest paths to the history of coal mining in Kladno.

Fascinating Tower Museum

A real rarity in Kladno Museum of Tower Builders, the first of its kind in the Czech Republic! If you are interested in, what life was like on the estate during the last regime you have to come here. The museum consists of a 1950s tower block, which you can walk through from the basement to the roof. Worth admiring is the lobby itself, the modern the exhibition in the basement and of course also sample apartment. There is also roof terraces with a view. In the underground of the house, in the second basement, there is also cover civil defense. The towers grew in the years 1953 to 1957 under the direction of architect Josef Havlíček. The five other houses still have several residents who moved in right after their completion. The museum is open to the public year-round on Saturdays and a 90-minute tour is required book in advance.

For animals to the Zoopark Zájezd

Family zoo Zoopark Zájezd is located in a small village of the same name between Kladno and Prague. They breed here almost 100 species of exotic and domestic animals. You can walk right up to the goats, just like the giant Belgian rabbits in the Ušákov. Throughout the year, various activities are prepared for visitors entertaining and educational programs (guided feeding sessions, guided tours, birds of prey demonstrations, baptisms, competitions for children, theatre performances, etc.).
