Although it hasn’t been held since last year, that doesn’t mean that eggs are completely absent in Jindřichův Hradec. For this Easter, they will be moving to Adam’s Building and the Rondel Music Pavilion, where they can “hide” with you They will crawl into inconspicuous places and your task will be to find them and record their location on the sheets you will receive at the ticket office before the tour begins. We hope that everyone who takes on the search will succeed in the task, and there will be a small sweet reward waiting for them at the end of the tour. To make the egg hunt easier, it will be possible to visit the castle rooms on individual tours from Good Friday 18 April to Easter Monday 21 April. The castle will be open on Easter from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 15:15.
Dragon’s Egg at Staré Hrady
Magical Old Castles invites you to celebrate the holidays at Dragon Easter – colorful dragon eggs at the castle. It will be open throughout the Easter holidays from Thursday 17 April until Monday 21 April inclusive. From Friday to Monday you can enjoy the courtyard where you will meet beautiful princesses, merry witches and playful witches and devils. Hiking route with giant eggs on Hluboká
Hluboká nad Vltavou offers unique entertainment that you cannot experience anywhere else: from 18 April to 18 May 2025, you can walk along the trail of giant Easter eggs and search for where they are hidden and how many there are. A map, which you can pick up at the information centre, will give you a clue. The trail leads from the castle park through the town, along the Munic Pond dam, with a turn to the sports complex and golf course, and ends at the Ohrada hunting lodge. The giant Easter eggs, weighing almost 700 kilograms, were painted by both academic painters and children from the local primary school.
The Hranice Easter Eggstravaganza
The traditional Kraslicovník in Hranice in Moravia creates an Easter atmosphere. This tree full of Easter eggs is decorated with various techniques provided by local kindergartens, schools and the general public. The town will be decorated from 27 March to 29 April 2025. Another important source of Easter eggs is the annual art workshops in the museum at the Old Town Hall. Other decorations in town include a giant Easter egg, a wake, a pomlazkomat and other attractions.

K. A. Polánek in Žatec invites you to the Easter exhibition “One egg boasted“. The museum’s collection of Easter eggs numbers a staggering 1,500 pieces. This year you can look forward to a novelty in the form of Easter eggs decorated with lake netting by Lenka Volková from Prague, a master of folk art. The exhibition will also offer other decorating techniques such as tin, wax batik, crochet, etc. The exhibition is open from 13 March to 20 April 2025.
From shell to art – that is the name of the Easter exhibition in the Rumburk Museum, which focuses on Easter eggs. Here you can see a collection of 350 painted Easter eggs on loan from the Association of Easter Egg Painters from Libotenice near Roudnice nad Labem.

Here you can enjoy the sight of 1,200 Easter eggs, which were created using traditional techniques – scraping, etching and decorated with wax or straw or the pulp of the lake sieve. To visit, you must make an appointment by phone.
In the village of Borkovany in South Moravia there is an exhibition of unique so-called résé (scraped) Easter eggs. These richly decorated Easter eggs have long been internationally recognised. In Borkovany, approximately 50 women painters are involved in the production of Easter eggs, which can produce up to 300 000 pieces per year. It is necessary to make an appointment in advance to visit the exhibition.
