Join the Effort to Revitalize the Sázava River

Sázava
This year, we will be cleaning 90 kilometers of the Sázava River. If you want to help the environment and make a positive impact on your community, we invite you to participate in next year’s cleanup of the Sázava River. The theme of this initiative, called Clean Sázava River, emphasizes that “Three days a year is not enough“. This message encourages everyone to take care of their environment throughout the entire year, not just during the event days. For more details about the project, visit the website cistarekasazava.cz or check out the project’s Facebook page.As in previous years, we will split the cleanup route into five sections, with all sections being cleaned at the same time. Each section will have its own group of volunteers along with a support team that will supply everything from gloves and trash bags to food and housing. Traditionally, the largest number of volunteers come from the areas Kácov and Pikovice, where around a thousand people participate. This includes children, schoolchildren, students, boaters, firefighters, fishermen, and many others who care about keeping the Sázava River clean. It’s important to note that not everyone will be collecting garbage from boats; some participants will also work along the shoreline, making it possible for “non-boaters” to get involved as well.

So you won’t miss out!

Please arrive at the starting point every morning between 8:00 and 8:30! If you cannot make it due to valid reasons, kindly inform the project manager as soon as possible so that a substitution can be arranged. Dress appropriately for the day, wearing suitable warm clothing for wet conditions, a hat or cap for sun or rain protection, and a raincoat or windbreaker (you’ll need to clean even if it rains). Bring sandals, sneakers, or boots, based on the weather and temperature, and make sure you have important documents like your ID and any necessary identification.Sázava cleaning
