Lake Macha attracts sport fishermen

FishermanLake Macha is becoming increasingly popular, and this is no surprise. The variety of sports and social activities available throughout the year is continuously growing. For the sixth consecutive year, the tradition of sport fishing has been revived on “Máchač,” where both experienced anglers and beginners can enjoy fishing. To participate, you simply need to purchase a fishing permit and follow the fishing regulations specific to Lake Macha.

Fishing permits are offered at four different rates: Daily for 300 CZK, Weekend for 500 CZK, Weekly for 800 CZK, and Annual for 2200 CZK. You can buy permits at the information centre in Doksy or at the Neufish fishing tackle shop. Starting in May, short-term permits will also be available at various locations, including the Máchovo jezero Regatta, the Port Hotel (for guests only), and the Andrea and Karolínka campsites, as well as at the information centre in Staré Splavy. The fishing season at Lake Macha traditionally kicks off with fishing competitions, and this year, the fifth competition is scheduled for May 10, 2025.
