Rychleby Trails: The Most Routes
Nestled along the border between Czechia and Poland, the most extensive MTB trail network in the Olomouc Region awaits. These trails have been skillfully crafted by repurposing old mountain hunting paths, promising an adrenaline-fueled mountain biking experience that immerses you in nature. As you traverse the paths, you’ll be captivated by the stunning landscape of the Rychlebské Mountains, featuring dense forests, towering granite boulders, deserted quarries, and serene mountain streams. In total, the connected circuits, which conveniently begin and end in Černá Voda (approximately a 2-hour drive from Olomouc), extend over 70 kilometers, including modern flow trails that add to the adventure.
The most accessible route follows the tranquil basin of the Černý Stream, making it a family-friendly option. For those seeking a bit more challenge, the Dr Wiessner Trail, located just south of Černá Voda, provides an exciting experience. A true standout is the Superflow Trail, meticulously designed by Welsh trail expert Rowan Sorrell and his Back On Track team. This track promises a thrilling experience as you speed through terrain waves and berms, occasionally navigating through tight sections of trees.
At the heart of this beautiful area is the Rychlebské Mountains Information Centre in Černá Voda, where you will find all the essentials, ranging from accommodation options to bike-washing facilities.
Kouty Bike Park: The Largest in the Region
Kick off your exhilarating biking journey at the largest bike park in Moravia, featuring a six-seater chairlift, which holds the record for the highest transport capacity in Czechia. Located about an hour’s drive from the regional capital of Olomouc, this park boasts four impressive trails that collectively span 14 kilometers, ensuring that even the most discerning professionals will be satisfied.
The first trail, cleverly named Uhlířská stopa (Charcoal Burner’s Track), winds through historical charcoal production sites. The second trail is a forest freeride path called Stará medvědice (Old She-Bear), featuring tough terrain waves and organic jumps, making it suitable for seasoned riders. As you descend along Hřebenovky (Ridge Line), you’ll encounter elements of 4X/freeride comprising banked corners and freeride segments – it’s a haven for thrill-seekers with the most dense collection of berms found anywhere in Czechia!
The final route, Koutíkův sen (Koutík’s Dream), is the most challenging of all, meticulously designed for expert riders. It features jumps with counter-slopes, banked turns, and steep descents filled with roots and rocks.
For your information: The bike park encompasses everything necessary for a fantastic day out – an information center with a sports shop, a bike testing facility, equipment rental, and a cozy restaurant complete with a summer terrace.
