Embrace the Arrival of Spring at the Czech Spa! Get Ready for the Exciting Kickoff of the 2025 Spa Season – A Perfect Escape from Boredom Awaits!

Karlovy Vary will kick off a new spa season on the first weekend of May. From May 2 to May 4, 2025, the entire city will be buzzing with one of the most significant cultural and social events of the year. Residents and visitors will enjoy a varied cultural programme, which will feature many distinguished guests from around the globe. The Saturday events will celebrate traditional ceremonies marking the season’s start in Karlovy Vary, including the blessing of the springs conducted by the papal nuncio, a formal mass, and a procession honoring Charles IV. The blessing of the springs will officially begin at 10:15 AM at the Mill Colonnade, and later, at 3:30 PM, the Charles IV procession will arrive at the same location. Throughout the weekend, a craft fair will be held in Smetana Sady, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The spa season in Mariánské Lázně will be inaugurated with a performance by the West Bohemia Symphony Orchestra on Friday, May 9, at the Casino Community Centre. The booth sales will take place over three days, specifically from May 9 to May 11, 2025. Stalls will be set up on Masaryk Street and along part of the colonnade stretching from the Singing Fountain to the Carolina Spring Pavilion. After its recent renovation that took place since last August, the Singing Fountain will be back in action for all to enjoy. The official programme will continue on Saturday, May 11, beginning with Mass at the Church of the Assumption, located near the colonnade. During the mass, church leaders will bless the Marian springs, followed by a ceremony on the colonnade starting around 11 AM. There will be an exciting cultural programme alongside the events! Many musical acts are set to perform, including Lucie Bílá, James Cole, Michal Nesvadba, the West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra, Blue Cimbal, Cocoman & Boldrick, Mc Gey, Stan & Tony Revival, and many more.

The Luhačovice Spa will traditionally welcome the arrival of spring with the Opening Springs Festival, set to happen from May 9 to May 11. Expect to see a lively parade featuring period costumes, workshops, a music and dance programme at the Community House stage, theatre performances aimed at children, and a festive event for the consecration of springs. Cyclists on vintage bicycles will ride around Spa Square to add to the charm. On Saturday and Sunday, a craft fair will be held in Dr. Veselý Street. Visitors can also explore the newly opened Slunečné lázně, which showcases exhibitions about the spa industry, Dušan Jurkovič, and Leoš Janáček.

Spa Celebrations at the End of May

The opening of the season at Libverda Spa on May 24, 2025, will feature a diverse and engaging all-day programme in the spa park. The spa will be open to the public that day for guided tours, allowing visitors to discover all the latest news about the spa. The park will be lively with music, singing, and performances! Children will get to take part in a Kids Mini Golf Tournament along with many other fun competitions. Delicious barbecue refreshments will be available throughout the day, accompanied by special bargain menus at the restaurants. The evening will wrap up with Spa Dance Entertainment.

The ceremonial kickoff for the 871st spa season in Spa Teplice will take place on May 24 and 25, 2025. Once again, tens of thousands of visitors are expected to fill the spa area over these two days. Teplice will transform into a grand open space filled with music of nearly every genre. The opening ceremony will feature the new spa season, and a summer cinema as well as a historic marketplace in Spa Alley, showcasing a delightful glimpse into the past of the Teplice spa. From the royal guest gallery, attendees can witness a parade of kings and emperors who enjoyed living in Teplice’s thermal baths, while the legacies of music legends who found inspiration in Teplice will float overhead.
