Pink wines are a delightful choice throughout the season, but they truly shine in May and June. With their fruity flavors and aromas, they become especially popular during the spring and summer months. The spectrum of pink shades—from soft pinkish grey to elegant salmon, sweet raspberry hints, and rich copper—is perfect for this time of year. Rosé wine is typically produced from blue grape varieties, using a method of brief pressing of crushed grapes (known as mash). The most common varieties used in the Czech Republic include Frankovka, St. Lawrence, Zweigeltrebe, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The most popular varieties of Moravian and Czech rosé wines include:

Svatovavrinecké – This wine is characterized by a deep pink hue with a touch of strawberry, featuring delightful fruity aromas and flavors of wild strawberries, raspberries, and black cherries.
Frankincense – The color ranges typically from light pink to apricot, with a fruity aroma that often includes notes of ripe cherries and plums, followed by a subtle cinnamon finish.
Merlot – Usually presenting in a deep pink tone, this wine showcases aromas of red berries, raspberries, and strawberries. Its taste is fruity, reminiscent of raspberry compote, often leaving a lingering aftertaste of raspberry and red grapefruit.
Cabernet Sauvignon – Its orange hue comes with floral and fruity aromas, including elderflower, blackberry, and white currant in its flavor profile.
Zweigeltrebe – Typically appearing in a salmon pink color, it has aromas and tastes reminiscent of forest fruits, such as raspberries and strawberries, wrapped in a creamy texture.
