Experience May 1 at Loučeň Castle

It’s that wonderful time of year when castles come alive with festive activities at Loučín. One of the first chances to enjoy a sunny day is on a special date – May Day. You have a unique opportunity to experience Kissing under a blossoming tree in the castle park, and you can do it multiple times, each under different trees! Make the most of this romantic occasion at the love feast on Thursday, May 1.Spend the entire day exploring the beautiful castle grounds and leave your daily worries behind. From 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, enjoy a stroll through the castle park and steal kisses under the picturesque flowering trees. There’s also an engaging May Flower(n)excuse Tour, which guides you through the castle’s chambers and showcases floral themes related to the princely family of Thurn-Taxis, running from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Unwind on the castle’s hammocks below the trees as you listen to the melodic birdsong in the “Flowery Meadow”.If the weather is nice, a picnic is a wonderful idea—a romantic picnic in the park. The expansive English Park features a remarkable European highlight: a collection of 12 labyrinths and mazes. As you wander through the blooming shrubs and flowers, you can discover these unique labyrinths from around the world at various photo points scattered throughout the park. Don’t miss the Buxus labyrinth, which will bloom with thousands of tiny flowers from the night of April 30 to May 1.

For those who love gardens, there are guided tours of the castle park with the castellan available on weekends and holidays at 2:00 pm.
