Reviving the Magic: The Singing Fountain in Mariánské Lázně
The Singing Fountain in Mariánské Lázně features a circular pool that measures eighteen meters in diameter, along with a twelve-part stone sculpture designed to look like a flower, which has a glossy steel center. This fountain is equipped with ten main splash systems and boasts over two hundred and fifty nozzles, with the medium spray reaching an impressive height of six meters. The entire fountain is controlled by a computer, allowing it to create fascinating splash patterns along with colored lights. The sculpture was designed by the talented academic architect Pavel Mišík. This year marks the fountain’s return after an extensive and challenging reconstruction that lasted nearly ten months.
This beloved attraction has been enhancing the experience of visitors on the spa promenade since 1986. The technical infrastructure is located underground beneath the fountain and includes a machinery room containing ten pumps with a total input of 70 kW, a storage tank capable of holding 25,000 liters of water, and an electrical substation. The fountain operates through a computer system that crafts various splash combinations, and it features colored lighting that accompanies about twenty different musical tracks.
On the last day of April, specifically April 30, 2025 at 9:00 p.m., the operation of the Singing Fountain will officially be inaugurated. Guests can anticipate a spectacular display showcasing all the songs performed by the fountain, perfectly set against a backdrop of nighttime lighting. The fountain will perform daily from May until October, starting at 7:00 p.m. every odd hour, with additional shows at 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. that include visual displays featuring colorful lights.
