Experience the Final Days of World War II at Slivice’s Victory Memorial

Members of military history clubs are organizing a special event on Saturday, May 10, 2025, to recreate the last battle of the Second World War in Europe. This significant demonstration will take place at the memorial site of Slivice near Milín, located in the Příbram region. Attendees can expect to see historical military vehicles as well as modern equipment used by the army, police, and firefighters.
The event’s schedule will kick off at 10 a.m. with an exhibition showcasing historical military equipment alongside displays from military history clubs. At 1 p.m., a commemorative ceremony will commence, opened by the fanfare of the St. Mary’s Trumpet Ensemble. The organizing representatives will honor those who lost their lives and the director of the Mining Museum Příbram, Josef Velfl, will recall the important events related to the end of the war in the Příbram region.
The main attraction of the day will take place at 2:00 p.m., highlighting battles that historically occurred in the area on May 11th and 12th, 1945, which are remembered as the last battle of World War II in Europe.
This event is being organized by the municipality of Milín and the Příbram Mining Museum, in collaboration with the town of Příbram, the Army of the Czech Republic, the Police of the Czech Republic, the Central Bohemian Fire Brigade, and various military history clubs.
