Explore the Exciting Crafts, Sports, and Supportive Foster Parenting Activities This May on the Trail of Treetops in the Giant Mountains

The Krkonoše Trail through the Treetops in Janské Lázně has an exciting program planned for May. From Thursday, May 8, to Sunday, May 11, there will be numerous activities for visitors of all ages, both young and old alike. Whether you’re a fan of sports, nature, or crafts, there’s something for everyone. Those visiting for the long weekend can enjoy a different experience each day. On the second May bank holiday, specifically Thursday, May 8, the trail will showcase traditional crafts. You’ll discover skilled artisans at various stations, demonstrating how they worked with wood, metal , and clay. You can not only observe their techniques but also try your hand at crafting—taking home a handmade souvenir afterwards.
On Friday May 9, it’s time for a different kind of enjoyment, aimed at sports lovers who appreciate nature. Expect a day filled with movement, fun, and excitement up in the treetops! You’ll get to partake in activities at five sports stations strategically placed along the Trail. Each station will present you with a simple sporting challenge that’s fun for both children and adults. Complete all the challenges to earn a stamp, and if you collect them all, you’ll receive a small reward. Activities will include challenges like a bear walk, a jumping squirrel, an owl hunt, a nimble hare, and navigating a spider web.
Saturday for foster families and Sunday with raptors
Every year, the Treetop Trail dedicates a special day to families involved in foster care for children. This year’s event will take place on Saturday May 10. Foster families can look forward to fun activities, including puppet theatre and other entertainment, as well as a concert by Monika Absolonová. This special day is primarily for foster families, but it’s also open to all visitors to the Trail! Everyone will be able to join in on the children’s games, competitions, and creative workshops.
The exciting program in the Krkonoše forest wraps up on Sunday May 11 with a special event focusing on birds of prey. Visitors will have a rare chance to meet magnificent raptors from the Touch Your Wings Rescue Station. Throughout the day, attendees can encounter falcons, owls, buzzards, and other stunning birds of prey up close! Learn fascinating facts about their lives, hunting skills, and conservation efforts. You won’t want to miss Guided flight demonstrations and opportunities for photography. This offers an ideal experience for nature and animal enthusiasts of all ages!
