Asparagus Takes Center Stage
In Moravia, the town of Ivančice will celebrate asparagus during the **30th annual Celebration of Asparagus and Wine**. This festive event is scheduled for the **weekend of May 16-18**, where visitors can delight in tasting at least **30 different asparagus dishes**. You’ll also find winemakers showcasing their offerings in the town hall courtyard. A vibrant cultural program, along with activities for children, is promised. On **Sunday, May 18**, you can even catch a special ride on a historic train from Brno to Ivančice. The journey will be powered by the steam locomotive Velký Bejček and will feature historic Rybák-type third-class carriages along with a buffet car. Throughout the day, there will be two trips back and forth from Brno to Ivančice.
Fresh asparagus from the Hostíno farm, located near Vojkovice in the Mělník region, will be available for purchase throughout the asparagus season, **until June 30**. They are open every day from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Hostíno’s growers are unique in the Czech Republic for their large-scale asparagus farming. Other vegetable farmers often avoid this crop due to its challenges; it takes approximately three years for the seedlings to mature and they require a considerable amount of careful manual labor.

An expert panel will choose the best beers across four distinct categories.
On **Saturday, May 24**, a fun program awaits at the **National Brewing Museum** in Kostelec nad Černými lesy for the **13th Beer Festival Vysmolení** event. On **Saturday, May 17**, the **Wine Festival** returns for its second year in Strakonice. Winemakers from various wine-growing areas of Bohemia and Moravia will gather in the beautiful Panská zahrada to showcase the best of their current offerings.
Around 25 winemakers, mostly from Moravia, will be present at Rašínovo nábřeží in Prague to share delightful rosé wines paired with complementary delicacies. The **Pink May Festival** kicks off on **Saturday, May 17** at 10 a.m.
On **Saturday, May 24**, make your way to Domažlice for the inaugural **Wine Festival**. Here, winemakers from different regions of Bohemia and Moravia will gather in the center of Chodsko to present some of their finest productions. On Sunday, May 25, the entire area around DEPO2015 in the Pilsen Creative Zone will be filled with the aroma of coffee from around the globe.
