The team at Warhorse Studios works out of Prague, with plenty of historical inspiration surrounding them. The creators often debated whether a game without magic or dragons could be enjoyable. It turns out it was a great option: no dragons, no magic—just castles, forts, knights, duels, battles, and political intrigue, all set in an expansive medieval world. The authentic experience of Kingdom Come: Deliverance took care of the accurate portrayal of clothing and armor, as well as real towns, villages, churches, monasteries, castles, and fortresses within Posázaví. According to players, it was the first game to be so precisely mapped both geographically and historically, making it believable. For example, the area around Sázava has been accurately rendered in the game map at nearly a 1:1 scale, so as an eager traveler, you can use the map to visit these locations and decide for yourself whether the landscape is more beautiful in real life or on your screen.
Some places still retain their wild, medieval character, while others have unfortunately not survived the passage of time. This also applies to Sázava Monastery, which you experience in the game as a grand triple-aisled hall.
