Drive into Adventure: The Safari at Dvůr Králové is Now Open for Cars!

The African Safari in the Safari Park opened its gates to visitors on May 1. However, for safety reasons against the spread of SLAK disease, visitors cannot drive their own vehicles just yet. You can once again experience the joy of Driving among African animals in your own car starting from May 15, 2025. It’s important to note that you must purchase your car ticket in advance online, as tickets are date and time-specific and become invalid if not used on the chosen date. Each passenger must also have a ticket for the walking areas of the park to enter the safari.

Antelopes, waterbucks, giraffes, and lions are back!

Almost all the animals have returned from their wintering grounds to the African Safari. When you visit, you’ll find yourself driving among magnificent antelope, elk, horses, and water moccasins. Keep an eye out for the herds of zebras and wildebeests grazing on the vast meadows, as well as pelicans floating gracefully on the water and a group of ostriches. Don’t miss the chance to spot a pair of male giraffes during your journey. From the African safari, you can continue your adventure in your vehicle to the Lion Safari, where you can observe both African and Berber lions along a scenic 600-meter trail. The Lion Safari has been an exciting feature since 2015 and is unique in the Czech Republic (please note that pets and animals are not permitted on the Lion Safari).

So, how can you see the animals? There are three options available for your safari experience: Your Own Car – The Safari Park is the only place in the Czech Republic where you have the opportunity to drive among African animals in your own vehicle. Remember, tickets must be bought in advance online. The cost for one passenger vehicle is 490 CZK, and you will need to have a regular ticket for every passenger. Entry into the safari with a private car is only allowed until 5:15 PM. An adult ticket costs 325 CZK while a children’s ticket is priced at 265 CZK. Both the African Safari and Lion Safari can be experienced by car.

Africa Truck – This is a unique vehicle with a trailer that can accommodate up to 45 individuals. The journey includes expert commentary, making the experience even more enjoyable. Tickets at 180 CZK per person can be obtained at the ticket office located at Restaurant Kibo, which also serves as the departure point. The Africa truck will visit both the African and Lion Safari. Safaribus – This is a special bus that can hold up to 52 people. Similar to the Africa Truck, the ride is accompanied by a guide who provides commentary. The ticket cost is 90 CZK, and tickets can be purchased at the departure point situated near the drills exhibition, just below the lions’ area. Please note that the Safaribus does not travel to the Lion Safari.
