Ferries Are Back on Lipno Dam!

As of May, the ferries across the Lipno reservoir are back in service. The ferry operates from Horní Plané to Bližší Lhota, running every half hour on the hour and half hour, starting at 6:30 AM and continuing until 8:30 AM. The updated vending machines now accept credit card payments to make your travel easier. After crossing on the ferry, you can travel onwards to places like Front and Rear Bells, St. Thomas, Vítkův Hrádek, or Frýdava. The cost for a hiker is 20 CZK, while cyclists pay 50 CZK (this includes an extra charge of 30 CZK for bringing a bicycle). Individuals presenting a disabled person’s card can ride for free. For a special ride, please contact 723 589 56, and note that the extra fee is CZK 250.

In Frymburk, there is also a ferry service to Frýdava. From there, you can enjoy trips to Svatý Tomáš and the Vítkův Hrádek lookout tower, Nová Pec, or even venture into Austria. This ferry operates on the hour, starting at 9:00 AM and running until 5:00 PM (and until 6:00 PM during May and June) with fares of 30 CZK for walkers and 60 CZK for cyclists (which includes a 30 CZK charge for the bicycle).

The ferry service from Dolní Vltavice to Kyselov is also running. This ferry operates from 9:00 AM until at least 4:00 PM (and will run until 8:00 PM in July and August). From Kyselov, you can continue your journey to Austria along the local section of the Schwarzenberg Canal or travel towards Bližší Lhota or Frýdava. The cost is 50 CZK per person, while cyclists are charged 80 CZK (30 CZK extra for a bike). Special rides can also be arranged for 500 CZK.
