Kostelec nad Černými lesy Bursts with Color: Discover Ceramic Markets to Banish Boredom!

The annual Ceramic Day with Markets in Kostelec nad Černými lesy takes place every year on the last Saturday of May. This year, mark your calendars for Saturday, May 31, 2025. At these well-loved markets, attendees will be treated to displays from several dozen of the finest Czech artisans, showcasing both pottery and traditional ceramics. You will have the opportunity to purchase items created by both Czech and international artists, watch demonstrations of pottery wheel techniques, and even participate in contests.
The town’s centerpiece is the castle, which is home to the Faculty of Forestry. Located in Smiřických Square, you can find the Baroque Church of the Guardian Angels, alongside the Museum of Pottery. The festivities for Ceramic Day will begin at 9:00 AM. Throughout the day, the market will feature an accompanying program including performances by the band Kriskros as well as musicians Jakub Noha and Petr Bublák.
