Kids visiting Zoo Ostrava on this day can engage in activities created in cooperation with VZP. Additionally, on Sunday, June 1, children can enter Děčín Zoo for just ten crowns and receive a small gift. If you take your children to the Jihlava Zoo on this day, a fun-filled event awaits with activities like a family quiz, face painting, rabbit hopping, and much more. Visitors can enjoy a ride on a steam train to Karlštejn, a historic double-decker train to Kačerov and Smíchov, and also the state-of-the-art \strong>RegioFox engine to Krč. A fun-filled program is available for kids and adults alike at the Prague-Radotín railway station from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. There will be an exhibition of ČD rail vehicles, a replica of the Legionary Legiovlak train, and a model railway display. Celebrate Children’s Day in the castle park at Doksy, where a variety of performances will entertain, including theater shows, a tour of an actual ambulance with an intervention demonstration, characters from the Four-Leaf Clover, numerous competitions, and a performance by Jíti the Clown. Nearby, at Bezděz, children can enjoy a fencing day on Saturday, May 31, at the castle!

On Saturday, 31 May, visit the Olomouc depository of the ČD Museum and experience the captivating history of trains. This depository is only open to the public a few times a year, making this a special chance to see where legends of Czechoslovak railways are housed. The Children’s Day events at the Olomouc Depository will also include guided tours and rides on a special historical motor car—the tower (M120.417) from 1931, part of the National Technical Museum’s collection, along the Olomouc railway junction. Need directions to the depository? It’s located on Táborská Street and is easily accessible from Olomouc’s main railway station via an underpass.

The Beetroot RailwayOn weekends during May and June, you can also experience a ride on the charming Beet Groove. This restored section of the oldest beet groove in the Elbe region offers a delightful train trip, pulled by either steam or diesel locomotives along a narrow gauge line. Smaller groups can also enjoy rides in a railway carriage. Additionally, every weekend, families can once again take part in the Cyclocross—a family excursion train that has been redesigned into a large mobile playground for children. The existing train cars, which include a playcar filled with toys, another with bicycles, and a games car, have now added a fourth playroom filled with balloons and a children’s corner stocked with games, books, kits, and a train track. Older kids can set up tournaments in games like “Don’t Be Angry,” checkers, and cards, or enjoy drawing with chalk and building giant foam structures.

This center features a small farm, an orchard, a garden, wetlands, and floodplain forests in the Hostivař district, where many captivating events occur throughout the year. Children who enjoy traditional games are particularly welcome, and they’ll have a chance to meet the animals that live in this beautiful natural area.
