Join the Trofeo Nico Veterans Ride: A Journey with Radegast and Grandpa Praděd

If you enjoy the beauty of mountains and the charm of vintage cars, then you should definitely mark your calendar for June 5 to 8, 2025. You will get a chance to see the stylish parade of Trofeo Niké vintage cars. Some of these vehicles are over a century old, and they will travel over the span of four days more than 260 kilometers through the Moravian-Silesian region. For the teams driving these classic cars, the experience is a delightful mix of sporting competition, cultural experiences, and social interactions. It’s a wonderful opportunity to showcase these rare automobiles to the public. Be sure not to miss the spectacular beauty on four wheels, complemented by a variety of accompanying events.
This year’s Trofeo Niké aims to connect the technical elegance of historic vehicles with the beautiful landscapes and architectural highlights of the Czech Republic, while also lending support to areas that suffered from last year’s severe flooding. Leading the veterans’ convoy through the three Moravian regions will be Karel Loprais’ Tatra racing vehicle, which has proudly participated in all 24 past editions of the event (note that the Trofeo Niké was unfortunately canceled in 2024 due to inclement weather). Karel’s nephew, Milan Loprais, will be at the wheel. As the convoy makes its way, smiles light up the faces of spectators at both the stops and during the drive. The Trofeo Niké not only pays homage to history, craftsmanship, and artistry of the past, but it also brings joy to both dedicated fans of automotive history and curious onlookers, including tourists. For Veterans to Beskydy and Jeseníky
The Oldest and the Youngest
The oldest car in the lineup of vintage vehicles will be the Maxwell from the year 1917. This American classic features spoked wooden wheels and is a forerunner to the Chrysler brand. On the European side, the oldest car will be a French four-door, five-seat sedan, the Panhard-Levassor SS X36, dating back to 1923. Among the other notable cars is the Bentley Special Roadster from 1937, known for its aluminum body and capable of reaching speeds up to 145 km/h. Another interesting British car in the mix is the 1950 Bristol 400, a luxury automobile of its time that was inspired by the pre-war BMW 327, with only 487 units produced. This year, a bus will also join the scenic ride for the first time; specifically, a 1973 line model, the Škoda Karosa ŠL 11, which was manufactured in Vysoké Mýto. This robust vehicle, weighing more than eight tons, will stand in stark contrast to the lightweight single-seater motorcycle, the ČZ 175 from 1937, created by Česká Zbrojovka Strakonice. This motorcycle, weighing only 97 kilograms without fluids, will be ridden by its owner from Slovakia.
Among the historically youngest cars, Karel Loprais’ family members will participate: his son Tomáš will drive a Tatra 613 from 1991, and leading the motorcade will be his nephew Milan in the Tatra T815 4×4.
