Summer news you must see

Bellarie KrumlovWhen traveling through the Czech Republic, be sure to visit Český Krumlov—the Chateau Garden is now open for a special tour titled “Bellarie Summer Palace“. This valuable and rare rococo garden building, the only one of its kind in the Czech Republic, has gone through comprehensive renovations. Among the unique features you will discover in the summer palace is “the magic table“, which transported food from lower levels to the upper levels for meals in the 18th century. Also, you can’t miss the artificial grotto cave, whose walls are artistically decorated with hundreds of shells, shards of glass, and mirrors. Once, the cave walls were lined with pearlfish from rivers. You simply have to witness this astounding beauty!

orangeThe pride of Červená Poříčí Chateau is the restored rare baroque chateau orangery, which is set to open for the 2025 season. Previously, the condition of this monument was quite poor: the orangery had fallen into disrepair and was used as a shed by the Forest of the Czech Republic located nearby. Fortunately, after extensive renovations that began in 2022 and are slated to finish in late 2024, it now appears as it did when built in the 18th century and serves its original purpose, which is to winter and cultivate citrus and other exotic plants. Today, you can expect to find figs and much more growing once again…

Lysice CastleWe are excited to welcome you to the castle garden in Lysice, which has recently undergone a significant renovation and is now open to visitors for the first time. Not only the garden itself has been rejuvenated, but also the horticulture containing greenhouses and an Orangery and the unique castle fig tree house that features a sliding roof. During the renovation, the gardeners planted more than sixty species of flowers, trees, and shrubs; half a hectare is now covered in grass, all the statues have been restored. These buildings are complemented by other farm buildings, gardens, and pens housing livestock. There is also a delightful, approximately 4 km long, nature trail through the woods surrounding a massive statue of Jan Žižka and ongoing archaeological excavations.

Sun BathsLuhačovice has successfully restored the Sun and River Spa after a long time. Although sunbathing and swimming aren’t possible here anymore, the freshly renovated building by Dusan Jurkovic now serves as a museum dedicated to the local spa traditions and famous celebrities. The water remains at a depth of up to 30 cm, allowing those interested to dip their toes and paddle around.
