Discover Velvet Freshness: Unveiling Tradition at Veltrusy’s Enchanting Rose Exhibition

Just like in previous years, the Rose Festival will be held this year on Saturday and Sunday, June 14 and 15, 2025, at Veltrusy Castle. In the Northwest Wing of the castle, you can enjoy a delightful guided tour called “The Arrival of the Pink Countess.” This tour showcases the meeting of two countesses who share a love for flowers. Both countesses belong to the historic Chotek family from the Czech Republic; one is from Slovakia and the other from Hungary. On Saturday, tours will start at 10:00 AM and will continue every half hour until 4:30 PM. Tickets can be bought online or directly at the castle’s ticket office. On Sunday, there will be special tours running every hour throughout the day, and a classic guided tour will be held at half past six.
The northwest wing of the château will be beautifully adorned with flowers, and you can visit a rose exhibition that will feature various competitions, which is free to enter (however, guided tours of the castle’s interiors will require payment). Both days will include expert lectures available to the public. Additionally, there will be guided tours of the rose exhibition and a guided tour of part of the park, where you can meet authors of a new publication about Veltrus Park. Lectures on both historic and modern fruit cultivation will also take place in the Fruit drying room.
On Sunday, June 15, 2025, a Promenade Concert called “Pink Melodies” will occur at 15:00 in the castle’s orangery, forming part of the Rose Festival. The varied program will present musical pieces from different genres, all connected by the inspiring theme of roses.
