Attention Hanaks! Don’t Miss Out: The Folklore Festival in Přerov

In the castle and sub-castleThis year’s Přerov Folklore Festival will feature performances from various folklore groups including Vysočan Hlinsko, Bystřina Zliv, Kalinka, Kalina Babice, and Haná Přerov. They will showcase dulcimer music including styles like Parádnica, Olšavěnka Uherský Brod, Primáš, and Hanácká mozeka Litovel. Additionally, the folklore ensemble Topol’an from Giraltovce, a town in northeastern Slovakia’s Prešov region, will also be participating.

For all those who appreciate folklore and traditional music, the festivities will kick off on Friday, June 13, with cymbal music from Parádnica in the arcades of Horní náměstí, starting at 18:00. The main program will follow on Saturday, June 14, starting from 13:30. Various folklore groups will give performances, and attendees can even join in a dance school while checking out a photo exhibition in the gazebo dedicated to Hanácké svajba. A well-loved craft fair will also be available, where you can savor fine wines from Vinum Predmostensis, První vinařství Sobíšky, and Vinařství Kölbel. To wrap up the festival, Cimbalom under the stars will take place in front of Michalov Inn, starting at 18:00, and the fun will continue until evening falls!
