Dive into the Holešov Regatta: Unique Vessels and Great Music Await

The thirteenth edition of the Holešov Regatta, which is a family-friendly festival, is scheduled to happen on Friday and Saturday, June 20 and 21, in the beautiful gardens of Holešov Castle. Kicking off on Friday evening, June 20, there will be a lively rock party featuring performances by Prague Selection, Three Sisters, and AC/CZ, the top Czech tribute band known for emulating the famous AC/DC.
Saturday will bring a variety of musical acts sure to entertain people of all ages. You can expect performances from Xindl X, Wohnout, Adam Misik, and Michal Hrůza with his band, culminating with a full concert by the fabulous Ewa Farna. Additionally, the much-loved talk show 7 falls of Honza Dědek will return to Holešov. A unique and exciting feature this year will be the Kovozoo from Old Town, showcasing animal exhibits that will surely captivate both kids and adults alike.
Competition of Unconventional Vessels and Crossing of the Water Bridge
The Holešov Regatta is unique not just for its fun events but also for its stunning location next to the baroque Holešov Castle, often fondly referred to as “Moravian Versailles” due to its beautiful gardens filled with water channels shaped like Neptune’s trident. On those same water canals, there will be exciting competitions on Saturday where unconventional vessels will race and brave participants will compete for the title of World Champion in crossing the Holešov water bridge by bike. There will be many free activities for children during the festival: dances and sports in the gardens, aqua zorbing in the water canals, creative workshops will be held in the castle courtyard, and little ones can enjoy themselves on a pirate-themed bouncy castle.
Alongside the musical performances, the Holešov Regatta also features many fascinating accompanying programs. The Regatta includes dragon boat rides and other attractions that spectators can enjoy for free. At the castle meadow, slackline workshops will be conducted with world champions in this exciting activity, showcasing their skills during several exhibition performances throughout the music program. And of course, the popular water crossing event continues to be a highlight.
One of the most anticipated events is certainly the competition for unconventional crafts. The creative designs that have been seen floating on the Regatta’s waters over the years are incredible examples of craftsmanship, and not just makeshift boats, but rather unique and artistic boats. It has become a tradition for craft secondary and primary schools to participate, allowing their students to create these pieces as part of their lessons. Visitors to the festival this year can again expect extraordinary experiences. Because the canals in the castle’s gardens have limited space, only a total of 25 boats can compete in the competition.
Tickets for the Holešov Regatta can be purchased through Ticketportal and GoOut. One-day adult tickets are available for 790 CZK, while tickets for children under 15 cost just 390 CZK. A two-day pass is priced at 1090 Kč for adults and 590 CZK for kids. Children aged 7 and under are free to enter the festival when accompanied by their parents.
