Exciting Summer Adventure Awaits at Hrubý Rohozec Chateau – Fun for All Ages Beyond the Little Ones!

This weekend marks the start of summer activities at Hrubý Rohozec Castle, specifically on 5 – 6 July 2025. There will be costumed tours that appeal to both children and adults. During these tours, participants will meet characters that seem to have stepped right out of history. There will be tours of distinct areas and private suites. If you have kids aged between 3 and 7, you can join the Castle for children tour from March to September, which is a unique, 25-minute experience. During this tour, a princess will show the children around the castle’s two libraries, the dining room, and the children’s rooms, using a question-based approach to engage them.
Before summer fully arrives, visitors can enjoy a tour of the chapel showcasing the original castle organ. The talented organist Radek Rejšek will play the organ for guests. Smaller tour groups will have the chance to go up to the music chamber, where they will learn about the organ’s history along with a brief demonstration. This special event, named Organ Saturday at Hrubý Rohozec, will be part of the Representation Rooms tour and will occur on 28 June, 19 July, 23 August, and 27 September 2025.
In the summer of 2025, the castle will also open normally closed-off areas through special tours. On the tour To the Renaissance at Hrubý Rohozec Castle, you will explore the oldest sections of the structure that were originally part of the late Gothic Krajířovský chateau. The tour will include fascinating details about the castle’s architecture and its historical evolution. Visitors will see places like the eastern cellar, the butler’s pantry, and the Renaissance room located in the tower. These special tours are scheduled for 12 July and 20 September 2025.
During the peak season, which runs from June to September, Hrubý Rohozec welcomes visitors from Tuesday to Sunday. The standard admission fee is 200 CZK, the discounted admission is 160 CZK, and children can enter for just 60 CZK.
