Experience the Enchanting Revival of the Porridge Festival in Horažďovice

porridgeHoražďovice, which was owned by the noble family Bavorová from Strakonice (a notable Czech noble family from the 13th century), stood its ground against His Royal Majesty at that time. This was a very unusual situation, marking a struggle between the monarch and the nobles. Interestingly, after holding out for a year, Horažďovice finally surrendered to the late king, who unfortunately passed away due to dysentery.

Festival of Porridge features a diverse cultural program, market stalls with crafts, historical reenactments, a porridge-cooking contest, and the crowning of the best porridge, as well as the title of the king of porridge the biggest eater. Attendees can also enjoy Ostrich Dressage, puppet shows from the Marigot, historical music performed by Euphorica, Echoes of the Orient, and theatrical fairy tales designed for children.
