Final Touches for the Czechia Grand Prix in Brno: Salač Aims for the Podium!

The circuit has a new surface that ranks among the fastest in the world. The private investment from the new owner of the Automotodrom totaled 180 million crowns, which not only went into the asphalt but also into repairing some of the facilities.
“We are ready. I believe that as many fans as possible will come and create an atmosphere that only Brno can. We want to showcase that Czechia is a leading force in organizing events, and the return of MotoGP will be the highlight of the year for visitors, TV viewers, and riders,” states Jan Št’ovíček, president of the organizing Autoclub of the Czech Republic.
The total budget for the event, excluding the aforementioned reconstruction, is 320 million crowns. With a mix of public and private funding, stable financial backing has been secured. The state contributed 100 million crowns, while both Brno and the South Moravian Region provided a subsidy of 35 million crowns each. The major expenses—such as promoter fees, registration fees, VAT, and other costs—amount to 220 million crowns. Organizers anticipate receiving 125 million crowns from ticket sales.
“Multi-source financing for large events using public funds is common worldwide. For the state, the investment in this event pays off many times over. Beyond the economic benefits, it allows Czech fans to experience this popular sport right in Brno. The media coverage will ensure Czechia and Brno gain international recognition. We believe the overall profit for the region, businesses, and the state from visitor accommodation, spending, and taxes will reach tens to hundreds of millions of crowns,” estimates Ondřej Šebek, Chairman of the National Sports Agency.
The Autoclub is working with the University of Economics in Prague on a study to assess the economic impact after the race.
“The research will include a thorough field survey at the event site, and we will collaborate with the city and the county. We aim to have current data available. We will publish the findings post-event,” explains Jan Št’ovíček, president of the Autoclub.
The return of MotoGP presents a unique chance for Czechia to raise its profile.
“MotoGP events are vital for promoting the Czech Republic—not just nationally, but also for regional tourism. For three days, our country, Brno, and the South Moravian Region will be part of a global broadcast viewed by nearly 400 million people. Online content can reach up to 50 million people, and we expect around 200,000 visitors on-site. This exposure is invaluable. Such promotion will help boost interest in our country and attract more tourists. The local economy stands to benefit significantly; currently, up to 88% of mass accommodation capacities are occupied during MotoGP in Brno, which is a substantial increase compared to regular summer weekends,” emphasizes František Reismüller, Director of CzechTourism.
Modernized Circuit Ready for Fans
The new surface has already been tested multiple times by Czech racer Filip Salač, along with other competitors.
“Feedback from the competitors is crucial for us. We’ve put in months of intensive work, and we truly value the positive responses we’ve received about the new surface. Our top priority was to execute the asphalt replacement to the highest standard, and from the feedback so far, it seems we’ve succeeded. We’ve also invested in facility repairs and are set for a large turnout of fans. Everything indicates that people are looking forward to the Grand Prix, and we greatly appreciate their interest,” says Karel Hubáček, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Automotodrom Brno.
Filip Salač aims to secure a podium finish for the fourth time in front of the home crowd.
“I hope for full stands because Czech fans are the best. The Brno crowd is amazing. I feel in a form I’ve never had before in my career,” declares the Czech racer, adding, “Other riders are asking me about the asphalt. They know it’s new and want to hear my experiences since I’ve trained there multiple times. It’s incomparable to the previous circuit; the new one has no bumps, and the grip is incredible.”
In the accompanying Northern Talent Cup race, Brno will also welcome Roman Durdis, Adam Vyskočil, and wildcard Viktor Čech.
A total of 200,000 fans are expected at the Czech Grand Prix. The circuit is fully prepared in collaboration with the Integrated Rescue System. Ticket demand is high; discounted presales end on June 30, after which prices will increase. Seats are almost sold out.
