Instead of requiring your kids to sit still and listen to the guide, let them enjoy their time with some creative activities. This additional fun ensures that children will not get bored during the tour. Be sure to ask for the “With crayons around the castle” publication at the ticket office. After the regular tour, kids can fill in and draw all sorts of things they learned while visiting the castle exhibition. The publication costs CZK 55.

After the tour, there’ll be a room prepared where kids can touch some exhibits, play the games that were enjoyed in the castles, try out the chair of the castle lord, and even pick up a sword. They will also have crayons available to draw a little picture as a memory. Kids will encounter a unique pet of the last owners’ daughters, walk up the grand staircase, and explore the private areas once occupied by the estate’s last owner. The tour wraps up in the children’s room, where they will see the toys that belonged to the children of the castle. These tours are available daily except on Mondays, from 10:00 to 16:00, with admission priced at 120 CZK.

Historical clothing in Milotice

milotice costumesOne of the attractions at Milotice Castle in the Hodonín region is the costumed tours, where interested visitors can dress up in historical clothing. These tours are offered throughout the season until October. In costume, as a princess/prince or count, visitors can explore the French garden, the English park, and the outdoor areas of Milotice Castle. Anyone with a camera can capture these moments during the stroll. However, it is essential to make a reservation beforehand to book! You can rent these costumes for 30 minutes regardless of the weather conditions.

Tours with HortensiaIn July, children can visit Ratiboř Castle for a tour with Hortensia the Comtesse. The young noblewoman shares insights about life on a country estate. They will learn about etiquette, fashion, hairstyles, and dressing up. The tour also covers the responsibilities of ladies and little ladies, along with how they spent their free time. Walking through the castle’s interiors with Hortensia takes about 30 minutes. During this special tour, children won’t feel bored as they can ask any questions that they find interesting, and at the end of the tour, they can also pose for a photo with Hortensia.

Náchod Castle under Peter Biron

NáchodNáchod Castle invites children to join ladies-in-waiting, chambermaids, and butlers for special tours designed just for them! During the interactive tour, kids will work with costumed guides to solve little tasks that servants faced at the ducal court and find out how life was at Náchod Castle during Peter Biron’s time, the father of “Mrs. Princess” from “Grandma Worked.” Kids will travel back in time with the guide and enjoy learning how the aristocrats lived in the 18th century. We recommend that you book these tours at least one day in advance. Tours are available daily from Tuesday to Sunday from 9:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., and the entrance fee is 100 CZK.

Summer with Rudy the Ghost at Kačina Castle

Kačina CastleKačina Castle has a full schedule of fun events throughout the summer. On Saturdays, 12. and 26 July and on 9 and 23 August 2025, children are invited to join the extraordinary tours with Rudy the Ghost. These entertaining tours will immerse you and your kids in the castle’s history, led by a highly qualified guide—Rudi, the spirit of Chotek. He has followed the fate of Kačina and its inhabitants for nearly two centuries and loves visiting the theater and having fun. Tours start at 10:45, 13:45, and 14:45 and last about an hour. You can buy tickets at information centers and online at kutnohorskeleto.cz. Tickets will only be available at the castle box office before the performance if there are any left after online reservations.

Tours in Hluboká with the Princess

deep with the PrincessAt Hluboká Castle, the Princess will guide the youngest guests through the state rooms located on the first floor. Children will have the chance to visit the bedroom and dressing room of Princess Eleonora, the grand dining room, and the morning salon . The tour is shortened and tailored to appeal to younger school-aged children (ages 5 to 10). As space in each group is limited to 20, we kindly ask that only one adult accompanies the children. It’s also permissible for children to attend the tour without an accompanying adult and be picked up afterward. Guided tours with the Princess will be available daily from June 28 to August 31, 2025, starting at 12:15 and 14:22. Admission costs 300 CZK for adults and 240 CZK for children.
