Sychrov Castle Offers Enchanting Holiday Tours for Kids with the Princess

Princess SychrovThe tour featuring the princess is specially crafted for kids and lasts around 25 minutes. It takes you through some of the castle’s most beautiful private and representative spaces (like the stair hall, the princess’s personal suite, the reception room, the library, and the grand dining room). This tour is meant for families with children and is guided by the Princess, who helps kids learn about how princes and princesses used to live in an enjoyable and easy way. During the tour, parents are allowed to accompany, but the details shared will not include complicated historical facts about the castle and its past owners. The ticket price for this tour is 160 CZK for both children and adults, while kids under 5 years old can enter for free. The tour operates every day from 10:00 to 16:00.Golden Treasure at SychrovYou will also enjoy the Golden Treasure exhibition. This display showcases rare objects stored in a vault room from the Sychrov collections, including gilded chalices, monstrances, and ivory statuettes. Another part of this exhibition highlights jewelry sculptures created by the distinguished Czech artist František Kynl, which he donated to the Czech Republic. His works stemmed from traditional Czech jewelry making and were greatly impacted by his years in Australia and the USA, as well as his collaborations with top jewelry brands (like Tiffany, Cartier, and David Webb). Entry to the tour costs 100 CZK.

A fun adventure with teddy bears and playtime in the English park

Armed with a map, you can explore the vast park surrounding the castle, looking for various clues, and once everything is solved, a small bear surprise is in store for you.

The Neo-Gothic Sychrov Castle was once home to the original French Rohan family, and you might recognize it from fairy tales like Goldilocks and The Immortal Aunt. The castle rooms are beautifully furnished with original pieces, artwork, and other decorative items; many rooms also feature intricate carved decorations. It is open to the public, allowing visitors to get a vivid picture of how life was in the latter half of the 19th century in a country estate belonging to an affluent aristocratic family.
