This Weekend, Velké Pavlovice Transforms into an Apricot Paradise

ApricotsApricots are a favored fruit in South Moravia, where the climate and soil are perfect for them. The Velkopavlovická apricot, a well-known type, has been cultivated in Velké Pavlovice for around 200 years. This year, an event known as Apricot picking and apricots on a plate is being arranged by Ekocentrum Trkmanka at their location on Nádražní Street. It takes place on Saturday, July 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. During the event, you can savor a variety of apricot specialties and even get your hands on an apricot recipe book along with some excellent wine. Additionally, this year’s festival will feature an exciting winery tour that includes a tasting session at V&M Zborovský.

ApricotsAmong the delectable apricot specialties available, you will find apricot goulash, delightful puff pastry cupcakes filled with custard and apricot, fried apricots, yeasted apricot dumplings, apricot cocktails, savory apricot buns, rice pudding topped with apricot, a scrumptious apricot tart with sprinkles, appetizers featuring apricot jam, or perhaps even apricot nectar and jam. There will also be a special apricot wine tasting event. To add to the fun, there will be a contest for Eating Belles, where participants will see how fast they can eat apricots combined with apricot jam. The entry fee for the Apricot Party is 150 crowns, while children aged 3 to 15 can join for just 50 CZK.

You are warmly invited to join the Wine in Orange or Open Night Cellars event, which comes after the Velkopavlovice Apricot Harvest on Saturday. From 5:00 p.m. until midnight, you can taste local wines and soak in the charming night ambiance of Velké Pavlovice.
