Znojmo’s Music Festival: A Cure for Your Boredom!

The Znojmo Music Festival is celebrating its 21st year, and it will happen from July 10 to July 27, 2025. This exciting event will feature over thirty-five musical performances. Every concert comes with a delightful wine tasting experience provided by local winemakers. The festival will bring together nearly twenty wineries, offering tastings and discussions about their wines during the concerts. Additionally, there will be a special selection of limited edition festival wines. A committee made up of sommeliers, winemakers, and notable figures will choose the top wines for this unique collection.

The welcoming atmosphere of this historic summer town, paired with top-quality performers and local wines, makes the Znojmo Music Festival a truly memorable event. This year, the theme is “Antiquity and Love.”

Julius Caesar in EgyptThe festival will feature the opera Julius Caesar in Egypt, which is the first festival opera to be co-produced with the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre and the Czech Ensemble Baroque. Look forward to seeing stars like Adam Plachetka and Andreas Scholl. The festival patron, Pavel Šporcl, will celebrate his 20th year supporting the Znojmo Music Festival by hosting a stunning symphonic concert alongside the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. The enchanting sound of Carmen will fill the air, and you’ll also enjoy A Family Opera Esopotamia, created in partnership with the Faculty of Music at JAMU, all taking place in Znojmo’s stunning theatre.

Znojmo Music FestivalFans of classical music can anticipate a concert featuring the talented pianist Ivo Kahánek, who will be accompanied by Marek Orko Vácha, as well as a performance by the festival’s own orchestra, Capella Sebastiana, bringing back one of Znojmo’s musical treasures. There will also be crossover events featuring dulcimer and jazz, and for the first time, an acrobatic-dance performance blended with music. Make sure to catch the wonderful concerts in Uherčice, Jaroslavice, or Jevišovice, along with performances for the Slavic Epic and lively street music. Summer, music, wine… in Znojmo and its surroundings

ZnojmoThe charming locations of Znojmo and its picturesque surroundings transform into a musical and tourist destination for three weeks in July. Each year, the festival attracts visitors to spots where concerts typically do not occur. An added perk of the festival is the wine tastings, which come included in the ticket price for every concert and festival performance. As a renowned wine town, Znojmo beautifully combines superb music and wine in a stunning historic environment.

Znojmo Šporcl Music FestivalViolin virtuoso Pavel Šporcl will honor the twentieth anniversary of his role as patron of the festival with a remarkable symphonic concert. He will be collaborating with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Chief Conductor Andreas Schüller, in partnership with the Retz Festival. Enjoy beautiful romantic melodies on July 19, 2025, in the unique venue of Nevoga’s industrial setting.

On July 21, 2025, experience a magical evening titled Tribes at Uherčice Castle, where a blend of music and acrobatics will be performed by skilled improvisers. The dancers will intertwine various dance styles with musical improvisation, creating an enchanting experience for the audience. Acrobatics will feature a range of stunning acts, including suspended performances and the use of the cyr wheel.

The festival will introduce Epopee for two choirs accompanied by two instruments, commissioned as a musical counterpart to Alfons Mucha’s monumental paintings in 2025. You can attend the vocal concert Music for the Slavonic Epic on July 22, 2025, at Moravský Krumlov Castle. A guided tour of the epic will start at 5:00 PM, followed by the concert.
