As you head to the cable car, consider a scenic walk on the nature trail named Directly to the cable car, where you can discover fascinating facts about the Krkonoše Mountains. If you’re looking for a shorter walk, try the Krakonoš’s confessional route that goes from Pec to Velká Úpa and is easy to navigate with strollers.
A fantastic option is also visiting Hnědý vrch – the cable car will easily take you to the top station, where there is a lookout tower offering stunning views. From here, you can choose to take a simple path back to Pec pod Sněžkou or venture onto longer hiking trails. Kids will also love Zelený potok – a walk through the valley (Zelený dol) along the stream, featuring stops by small waterfalls and cascades.

For more excitement, head over to the Monkey Park Rope Centre. You’ll find loads of obstacles and an amazing 70-meter traverse over the Pecca Dam. One of the best rope courses in the Czech Republic is set up in the resilient mountain spruces, where you can feel the essence of the Krkonoše wilderness.
Little adventurers can enjoy the Pecka play landscape, filled with wooden animal sculptures and slides, as well as Lemuria Children’s Park. This area is designed for children of all ages with countless play features that make fun take on a whole new meaning. Within Lemuria, you will find climbing structures with slides, a large trampoline area, and three long slides, each with a unique thrill. Whether you ride above ground, inside a tube, or underground, you’re guaranteed to land safely at the slide’s endpoint. The “Inferno” slide requires a bit more courage as it features a 12-meter drop that’s more suitable for older kids.
A paradise for children in the Pecka Games Landscape
Pecka Games Landscape offers a special collection of
large wooden animal figures, rope tracks, and climbing frames. You can check it out for free at the top station of the cable car to Portášky near Velká Úpa. The playground is divided into three themed sections: the water world, the treetop world, and the meadow world. One part is located in the meadow, another in the forest, and the last at the boundary between the forest and meadow. A unique feature in the forest section is a walkway elevated above the ground connecting the tree trunks. You’ll also find models of bird nests that can be found in the Giant Mountains. Not just kids will appreciate the amazing views from the lookout point, which is designed to resemble the antlers of a deer.
You can stroll along the elevated walkway next to a giant wooden lynx figure, a viper model, or a spindleback sculpture. All of these structures are climbable, offering kids the chance to explore. They can also crawl through fox or badger burrows, learn to identify animal tracks, or encounter a massive anthill. Young adventurers will love a 180-meter long rope course through the trees. Be sure to bring along a wooden peg, as it will be handy in navigating various water and obstacle challenges. Pecky’s souvenir, the wooden ball, will be essential for fun in the Water World.
