Reviving Adventure: Discover Exciting Getaways at Hřensko Racecourse Starting July 2025!

Edmund’s Gorge to reopen three years after devastating fire
Cruises will be available for excursions in the national park. In a trial period for a local service provider, Edmund’s Gorge will start offering cruises on July 15 and 16, 2025. The full reopening for the public will happen on Saturday, July 19, 2025. When visitors arrive at Edmund’s Gorge, they will be greeted by a guide who will lead them along the entire route through the gorge, and they’ll be picked up by a ferryman afterwards. Tourists will then walk back to the exit alongside their guides again.
During the cruise, you will hear many amusing and fascinating stories shared by local gondoliers, who use their oars to push the boat forward, just like they have always done since this attraction began.
The gorge is shaped like a rocky canyon with steep vertical walls that rise between 50 and 150 meters high. Many uniquely shaped rock formations were named by people during the Romantic era, and you can discover names such as The Waterman’s Chair, The Lion, The Elephant Family, The Monkey, or Spanish Balconies, along with The Guardian, among others. The ferryman not only propels the boat but also navigates it. While you enjoy the ride, he will highlight some of the unusual rock shapes.
