The highly anticipated Blueberry Festival will occur at the Borovany monastery on Saturday, July 12th, and Sunday, July 13th. Once again, Borovany is gearing up for a lively summer weekend filled with blueberries!

Blueberry feast under Pradědem

The 24th annual Blueberry Feast in Mala Morávka and Karlov pod Pradědem will take place from August 16th to 17th, 2025. Local restaurants will have a special blueberry-themed menu, serving blueberry dumplings and various other treats.

You can look forward to a market in the municipal park, where you can taste blueberries and much more.

Enjoy delicious blueberry dishes at local eateries, take a bike ride through the beautiful surrounding forests, breathe in the freshest air in the Czech Republic, and enjoy live music and fun competitions in the municipal park. Moreover, the Silesian Railway Association will be running a special blueberry train to Mala Morávka on Saturday and Sunday.

Blueberry Saturday at Zubačka in Kořenov

On Saturday, August 16, 2025, the Toothpick event will also feature blueberries. Weather permitting, a steam locomotive will be coming along, called “Kafemlejnek,” which will be accompanied by a collection of historic carriages. The blueberry festivities at the Kořenov railway station will provide a delightful blueberry feast.

At the station in Korenov, you can enjoy blueberry dumplings, various sizes of blueberry pies, and popular donuts and ice cream. There will also be blueberry beer, blueberry wine, or even real blueberry wine to sip on;

Blueberry garden in Borovany

Did you know that in Borovany, located in České Budějovice, there is a special Blueberry garden with a reading room that is the first of its kind in the Czech Republic? Here, you can explore a collection of 8 different varieties of garden or Canadian blueberries (Chandler, Duke, Emblue, Jersey, Bluecrop, Pink Lemonade, Berkeley, Bluejay). This garden is situated next to the former monastery’s prelature in an adjacent park.

The nearby Augustinian monastery has been beautifully renovated and features a wonderful garden filled with flowers. Besides tours of the monastery buildings, various cultural events take place either inside or in the garden during the tourist season.
