The whole castle area is stepping back into a bygone era. There’s a craft village set up, where you can see how horse-drawn carriages used to travel. You’ll find forges, horseshoe shops, and various workshops representing all 19 different crafts with 40 skilled artisans displaying their talents.A key part of these showcases happens during Josefkol, where experts who hold the title of Bearer of folk craft traditions come together. Through their teamwork, they help to maintain these traditional crafts and teach them to younger people. These skilled artisans also work on restoring historic carriages and wagons for the Museum of Carriages in Bohemia pod Kosířem, ensuring that these traditional crafts survive for future generations.

Visitors can witness wood bending using steam, how to assemble a wagon or carriage wheel, stretching a steel rim in the heat, crafting leather horse harnesses, weaving a sledge and wagon body from wicker, cutting glass for lanterns, and creating masquerades or carvings on wagon wheels. You’ll also see gilding and brushwork, which are traditional methods. Many of these demonstrations use vintage machines and tools that often run on human power instead of electricity. Various wagons, bicycles, and horse-drawn carriages will be displayed for the public, especially aimed at allowing younger people to appreciate the work and traditions of our ancestors.

Alongside the craftsmanship, you will also enjoy performance displays featuring stunt riders on horseback, skilled reinsmen, and impressive trick riders, as well as the sought-after show of noble horses along with park and hunting carriages. Anyone interested can take a ride in the carriage.
