Historical festivities of Jakub Krčín in Třeboň celebrate a significant historical character closely associated with the fishery traditions of the Třeboň area. This two-day event will kick off with a Friday 18 July concert featuring historical music. The evening will see the famed pond builder arriving at 21:45, with a warm welcome for Jakub Krčín and his entourage. Afterwards, there will be a brief display of fencing and dance in the Great Castle Courtyard, followed by a meeting between Jakub Krčín and William of Rožmberk.

The main events of the festivities are scheduled for Saturday 19 July. Masaryk Square will host fencing duels, displays of Renaissance dances, magic shows and medieval music. From 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., a historical fair will take place in the square, where visitors can shop for handmade crafts and various tasty treats.

The second stage in the castle park is especially designed for children. They can participate in competitions, observe historical crafts, visit a period camp, see falconry displays, and experience living statues of Renaissance artists. This year’s historical festivities will conclude with the traditional night parade through the city, featuring the departure of Jakub Krčín accompanied by fishermen on the pond Svět, and a spectacular fireworks display. The meadow parade will occur on Friday and Saturday at 10:00 p.m. and will take the route from Chateau Courtyard to Masaryk Square, continuing through Rožmberská Street, Žižkovo Square, Svinenska Gate, and Novohradská Gate, finally arriving at the dam of the pond Svět.
