The Dolní Morava mountain resort is renowned for its impressive attractions. Nestled on the border between Eastern Bohemia and Moravia, and not far from Poland, this location boasts numerous highlights. The standout feature is the Sky Bridge 721, opened in 2022 and recognized as one of the longest suspension bridges globally. Additionally, the popular Sky Walk reaches a height of 55 meters. However, this time, we invite you to experience the excitement of a mammoth mountain bobsleigh track! Get settled in the bobsleigh, buckle up, and enjoy a peaceful ride as you ascend to the starting point, taking in the stunning scenery along the way.
Prepare yourself for an exhilarating journey down the meandering track, which promises to be an unforgettable experience, regardless of how fast you choose to go. The bobsleigh track features a vertical drop of 364 meters, navigating through 25 twists and turns, including a thrilling 360° loop situated 12 meters above ground, a figure-eight loop, an underground tunnel, and soaring over four exciting jumps across forest paths. This track holds the distinction of being the longest in the Czech Republic and the second longest in Europe, stretching roughly 4 kilometers! The bobsleigh seats two, but individuals over 8 years old have the option to ride solo. Have fun!
Cable Car, Trails, and Panoramic Views at Lipno
Lipno in Southern Bohemia is particularly acclaimed for its winter sports, but this beautiful region offers much during summer as well. The chairlift at Lipno Bike Park operates in the summer months, catering to both hikers and cyclists. Utilize the lift to effortlessly ascend to the top of Kramolín and delight in the mesmerizing views of the Lipno Dam, Šumava, and the Novohradské Mountains. The vista from the Treetop Walkway is breathtaking. Bikers can take advantage of a family-friendly off-road biking route, while hikers can enjoy a scenic path that offers views of the Novohradské Mountains (Nové Hrady) and the Třeboň Basin. Lipno provides an array of recreational activities and attractions, including a rope centre and two exciting bobsleigh tracks for those seeking an adrenaline kick.
Orlické Mountains – Views and Adrenaline at Your Fingertips
The Orlické Mountains serve as an excellent destination for enthusiasts of active recreation. They are dotted with lookout towers that offer stunning vistas of Eastern Bohemia’s natural landscape. Among the most frequented is the lookout tower on Velká Deštná, standing as the highest peak in this mountain range. This 19-meter high tower, constructed with a steel framework, features lovely wooden panelling that adds to its aesthetic appeal. Visitors are treated to breathtaking views of the broader Rychnov area, the Stołowe (Table) Mountains, and the Bystrzyckie Mountains in Poland, alongside notable sights like Králický Sněžník, the Krkonoše Mountains, and Ještěd. The Šibeník lookout tower near Nové Město nad Metují and the Anna lookout tower in Olešnice also provide exceptional views. For those who enjoy downhill biking, the Říčky Bike Park features a range of trails catering to various skill levels. Meanwhile, the Deštné Trail Park and the newly introduced Zdobnice Trail Park offer thrilling experiences suited for families with children.
Explore Bohemian Switzerland on an Accessible Trail
Discover a wheelchair-accessible tourist trail located at the junction of the Lusatian Mountains and the Bohemian Switzerland National Park in Northern Bohemia. This one-of-a-kind nature trail invites all visitors to explore. Its circular route begins at the square in Krásná Lípa, next to the wheelchair-accessible Dům Českého Švýcarska (House of Bohemian Switzerland) and leads towards the springs of the Křinice stream. As you navigate around an old quarry, you will make your way to the Velký rybník (Great Pond) nature reserve. On your return, you’ll stroll through a forest and across meadows, enjoying lengthy views of the Lusatian Mountain ridges before arriving back at the Krásná Lípa město train station and onward to the square. There’s also an extended 9-kilometer route specially designed for those with mobility needs, featuring paved and smooth paths that are easy to maneuver.
Pustevny, Libušín, and Valaška
In the Beskids, the complex of buildings featuring folk architecture at Pustevny has stood for over a century. Sadly, in 2014, one of its main structures, the Libušín Chalet, was reduced to ashes. Fortunately, a replica of the building, restored to reflect its original colors, has been constructed! Libušín reopened to visitors during the summer season of 2020, allowing tourists to once again appreciate the beauty of these distinctive structures created by the talented Slovak architect Dušan Jurkovič.
The Pustevny mountain saddle serves as a key hub for hiking trails, making it an ideal starting point for hikes, biking, scooter rides, or leisurely walks along the ridge of Radhošť. The most convenient way to reach this area is via the chairlift from Trojanovice. Among its attractions is the elevated panoramic Valaška Skywalk, which boasts a glass observation deck and a 150-meter-long suspended “Himalayan” walkway.
In addition to the restored buildings at Pustevny, the Beskids also feature the exciting Boboffka bobsleigh track, located in Malá Stolová Mountain near the village of Čeladná. This nearly one-kilometer-long track allows children as young as three years old to ride along with an adult, offering a wonderful advantage for families. After you take a ride up to the top, breathtaking views of the Beskids will await you!
Soaring Above the Clouds in the Krkonoše Mountains
A four-seat cable car, divided into two sections, transports you to the summit of the highest mountain in the Czech Republic, Sněžka, located within the Krkonoše Mountains. The operation of the second section is subject to favorable weather conditions, but regardless, the ascent takes about 15 minutes. On a clear day, the panoramas from the top are unforgettable. If you wish, you can follow marked hiking trails back to Pec pod Sněžkou, Horní Malá Úpa, the Luční bouda chalet, and onward to Špindlerův Mlýn.
