Step into the Middle Ages with Panna and Baba
On the upcoming weekend of July 19 and 20, 2025, the most significant event of the season is set to happen at Trosky State Castle, known as Under the Bergow Banner. During this event, the castle will be transformed into a medieval estate filled with exciting activities. Visitors will get to enjoy medieval cooking showcases, theater performances, traditional music, and commentary on historical weapons, among other activities. This event is designed for everyone who wants to immerse themselves in the experience of the Middle Ages. Tickets for Saturday have already sold out, but Sunday tickets are still available for online purchase.
For fans of the game Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, there will be a chance to visit the castle ruins afterward. The castle’s management has organized plates featuring QR codes for this purpose. There are five QR codes scattered around the castle, and the sixth one can be found in the village of Troskovice, placed on a bench beside the tourist signpost, which offers a stunning view of Trosky. This allows game enthusiasts to compare the real-life location with the fictional one in the game. Trosky Castle is open every day of the week during the summer vacation.
Other castle events this summer
New for this holiday season, the castle will also offer evening guided tours called A Short Journey Through History. The dates for these tours can be found on the castle’s official website, castle-trosky.cz, where tickets are available for purchase. Kids will enjoy these tours as they come with fun worksheets tailored to their age.
From July 24 to 27, the well-liked event Lanochodci na Troskách (Canoeists on the Trosky) will take place, where rope walkers will traverse the “lines” stretched between Panna and Baba towers. In August, there will be theatrical performances (including revivals of the play inspired by Ota from Berg’s “Symbol in the Trosky” presented by the Zhruba Theatre, and “Kindly Jealousy” staged by the Theater Association Na Skále Helvíkovice), concerts (featuring Country Thistle and Znouzectnost), with the summer season closing on August 23, 2025, with the ever-popular Castle Night.
