Explore Karlovy Vary on the Sightseeing Train

By car train features two carriages, which can hold around 50 to 60 passengers, and operates daily around the Karlovy Vary spa area from Easter until October 26, 2025. The trains run at regular intervals 11:00 to 17:10, starting from the Main Post Office, passing by Tržnice and Divadelní náměstí, and ending at the Richmond Hotel (then returning). Since the cars can be closed and heated, passengers enjoy maximum comfort. The “locomotive” is built on an Iveco chassis and is powered by a CNG engine, which stands for compressed natural gas. This makes it have very low emissions, which is essential when operating in the spa region.
During your journey on the car train, you will get to see the main attractions of Karlovy Vary , such as its colonnades and various historical buildings. The full circular trip lasts around 30 minutes. The regular fare is 100 CZK, while the reduced fare is 60 CZK. Tickets can be purchased from the driver using cash or a credit card, or via the Vary Virtual app right before you board the train;

At the station, you will find theKarlovy Vary lower station, where a different adventure awaits for train enthusiasts. The lovely railway track from Karlovy Vary to Mariánské Lázně has been in operation since 1898. The route, listed as number 149 in the timetable, is 53 kilometres long and mostly passes through the protected area of Slavkovský les. It follows the valley of the Teplá River and goes to Bečov nad Teplou, the Teplá Monastery, and even to Mariánky. The train runs approximately every two hours, allowing plenty of time for you to return to Karlovy Vary.
