Vsetín to Celebrate Its Templar Heritage with Exciting Festivities
Jugglers, swordsmen, juggling performances, medieval music, delicious foods, and horseback riding are just some of the exciting activities that await visitors on Saturday 16 August at the 15th annual Templar Festivities in Vsetín. For this special event, the Upper Square will transport everyone back to the medieval times of the Templars, and the area around Vsetín Castle will be filled with not only historical wonders but also the cheerful sounds of children and the delightful aroma of traditional food. Expect thrilling performances from fencing groups, energetic medieval music, captivating fire shows, and tasty goulash along with a variety of other delicious treats.
The space in front of Vsetín Castle will be transformed into a lively medieval camp featuring a historic fair and an array of performances. Knightly duels will be showcased by the Šumperk Fencing Club, the Rebelius group, and the well-loved Wallachian Guard. To enhance the festive atmosphere, the Karmína will provide musical entertainment, while the famous juggler Hop will delight children and adults alike with his spectacular juggling show. Additionally, you can enjoy period dance performances courtesy of the group Roseta Brno. The main program will wrap up with an exciting fire show at 8:30 PM.

The Wallachian Guard is also preparing a fun fencing experience for kids, and under the guidance of Burgmistry, visitors will have the opportunity to try their hands at historical weapons and armor. Some activities will also take place inside the castle and at the nearby observatory, which is typically a quieter part of the festivities. As has been the tradition each year, you will have the chance to get a closer look at and even interact with the birds of prey from the rescue station in Hošťálková. Additionally, there will be knight trainers, archery, coin minting, and even opportunities for sun gazing.
