Exciting Fencing, Juggling Fun, and a Vibrant Fair! Discover Thrills at Bítov Castle
This exciting event at Bítov will take place on the weekend 16 and 17 August 2025. Alongside the guided tours, attendees can enjoy engaging skirmishes and see demonstrations of fencing and lively theatrical performances. The Bítov Castle Pilgrimage offers an exciting program for both days.
On Saturday , visitors will be entertained by a theatre group called Comedians on a Cart, who will perform fairy tales and hold a juggling workshop in the castle’s main courtyard. Admission is free and is also included in the tour price. In addition, expect to find an old crafts fair, featuring items like jewelry, ceramics, wooden toys, and blacksmith creations, as well as delicious treats like trdelník, various coffees, lángos, and more.
On Sunday , the event will culminate with a church pilgrimage featuring a parade starting from the castle fountain (meet at 10:45 a.m.), followed by a procession in front of the castle chapel where a Holy Mass will be held, along with the adoration of the Bítov Reconciling Madonna (dating back to the early 14th century) inside the chapel. The Comedians on a Cart group will again perform their tales and juggling workshop in both the main courtyard and the park garden. Admission remains free and is included in the tour price. Additionally, on Sunday, there will be Tour No. II “Castle Area” offered free of charge until 12:00 p.m. (this covers entry to the fair, theatre performances, tours of the exhibitions, the chapel, the garden, and also the castle brewery exhibit).
