Discover all this and more in the picturesque regions of South Moravia and North Bohemia. Plus, this is the heart of the vintage season, making it the perfect opportunity to partake in wine festivals and sample burčák, which is a delightful fermented grape juice.

The Znojmo Wine Route in Moravia stretches 63 km and serves as a vital part of a broader network of biking trails that wind through the scenic landscapes of South Moravia. This route caters to cyclists of all ages and skill levels. During your journey, from 12 to 14 September 2025, make sure to stop by Znojmo to experience the acclaimed Znojmo Historical Vintage Festival, where a symbolic tribute will be paid to the esteemed King John of Luxembourg.

Another wonderful choice that’s also great for leisure cyclists is the Moravian Mikulov Wine Trail. This trail is marked in red and from 12 to 14 September 2025, it will lead you to the vibrant Pálava Wine Festival in Mikulov. This festival, which celebrates wine, gastronomy, and culture, features a prestigious wine competition and is one of the most renowned in the Czech Republic. Expect a colorful royal procession, a craft market, and vibrant cimbalom music.

If you’re inclined towards cultural experiences, don’t miss the Moravian Slovakian Wine Festival and Heritage Site Open Day taking place from 13 to 14 September 2025 in Uherské Hradiště. This festival showcases the rich traditions and cultural diversity of traditional folk life in Moravian Slovakia. To reach it, you can ride the beautiful 45-kilometer Uherské Hradiště Wine Trail. Be sure to stop in Vlčnov, where we highly recommend checking out the unique above-ground cellars and presses (known as Vlčnov budy) along with the fascinating Museum of Folk Distilleries.

If you’re seeking yet another picturesque region to bike through, look no further than the area situated just north of Prague, where the majestic Vltava and Elbe rivers converge. The renowned Elbe Trail winds around the historical town of Mělník, where the vineyard-covered slopes rise dramatically above the water, continuing onwards to the regal town of Litoměřice. As you ride, you’ll be treated to sights of a Gothic castle, Roudnice Chateau, the legendary mountain of Říp, and the historic fortress town of Terezín. Don’t forget to visit the Mělník Chateau and its historic wine cellars. Plus, from 19 to 21 September 2025, you can enjoy a traditional festival celebrating winemakers and delicious food in Mělník.

Singltrek pod Smrkem

Another great option is Singltrek pod Smrkem, located in North Bohemia near Liberec, boasting over 60 km of exceptional trails. This destination is perfect for everyone, ranging from novices and families with children to seasoned bikers. Don’t worry if you didn’t bring your own bike; rental centers are readily available to provide everything you need. Beyond the thrilling trails, you’ll be captivated by the stunning scenery of the Jizera Mountains and the nearby Jizera Mountain Beech Forest, which is recognized as a UNESCO Natural Heritage Site, not to mention the charming château in Frýdlant.

Bečva Biking Trail

If a leisurely multi-day cycling adventure sounds appealing, the Bečva Biking Trail is your ideal choice. This extensive trail spans nearly 160 km along the picturesque Bečva River in Moravia. If you embark on your journey from its source in the Beskid Mountains all the way to where the Bečva meets the Morava, you will experience a scenic ride that’s slightly downhill! What can you look forward to? Along the way, you’ll encounter charming landscapes, Helfštýn Castle, Tovačov Château, and the Zbrašovské Aragonite Caves near Hranice. You may also wish to immerse yourself in the folk traditions of the Wallachian region at the Open Air Museum in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm.

Klínovec Trail Park and the Ore Mountains

This breathtaking route connecting the two European capitals spans 368 km and typically takes about a week to cover by bike, including breaks.
