Explore the Enchanting Scenery of Mikulčice: Sip on Wine and Bourbon from Hidden Cellars

On the second-to-last Saturday of August, August 23rd, 2025, Mikulčice will hold its traditional Open Cellars event. This is a cozy gathering where people can sample a variety of wines produced by both local small-scale growers and professional winemakers. The wineries will welcome visitors until they can explore small family-operated vineyards and traditional wine cellars located in areas like “Těšické búdy,” “Čertovka,” and the cellar pathways near the hunting lodge. Throughout the day, guests will have the chance to interact with the winemakers who create these delightful wines. Expect a wonderful atmosphere filled with local folklore and lovely traditions at every corner.
Transportation between the cellars will be provided by horse-drawn carriages, as is customary each year. There will also be delicious local specialties to enjoy. The Wine Museum and the birthplace of Fanoš Mikulecký will be open for visitors throughout the day. To enhance the experience, there will be performances by a brass band and dulcimer music. The day will typically wrap up with a dulcimer gathering in front of the hunting lodge, starting at 20:00.
