Experience the Magic of Music, Film, and Theatre at Golden Pecka in Chrudim

Festival Zlatá Pecka focuses on a distinct theme each year, which is related to notable musical figures or styles. This year, we are celebrating 340 years since the birth of Johann Sebastian Bach, who is known as one of the most brilliant musical talents in history. Dagmar Pecková and her team are honoring him in this ninth edition of the Golden Pecka festival.

Opening concert Give yourself a Bach! will take place at Fibich Hall in Chrudim on August 25. The concert will feature three remarkable violin virtuosos: Václav Hudeček, Jiří Vodička, and Jan Mráček. Attendees can look forward to an evening filled with singing and deeply emotional music performed by these exceptional Czech violinists, accompanied by the chamber ensemble Barocco sempre giovane, known for its outstanding interpretations of Baroque music in Europe.

Hradec Králové Philharmonic OrchestraAs every year, we will have Pěvissimo master classes for aspiring singers, led this year by German baritone Berndhard Hansky, who performs with state operas in Berlin, Dresden, and Hamburg. The Golden Peck Gala will take place at the Suk Hall of the House of Music in Pardubice, showcasing the talents of promising young instrumentalists, singers, and composers. They will be accompanied by the Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Pardubice , conducted by Stanislav Vavřínek. Throughout the festival, performances will also be held in towns such as Holice, Česká Třebová, Heřmanův Městec, Pecka Castle, Havlíčkův Brod, and Prague.

muses of the musicianDuring the festival, there will be many exciting activities happening beyond just concerts. On Sunday August 24, 2025, at 7 p.m. in the Municipal Cinema Chrudim, attendees can look forward to a screening of Václav Hudeček’s film Muse. This will be followed by a discussion featuring writer Eva Hudečková, violin virtuoso Václav Hudeček, and director Patrik Ulrich. Dagmar Pecková will also share memories from her childhood and her first encounter with this year’s highlight, Václav Hudeček. The evening will be moderated by Czech Radio editor Petr Voldán.

Carmen y CarmenOn Friday August 29, 2025, Pecka Castle will echo with the performance of the Bonifantes Boys Choir as part of the Pecka na Pecce! program. Currently, Bonifanti gives about one hundred concerts annually, both in the Czech Republic and internationally. They have performed in countries including Austria, Germany, Denmark, France, England, Belgium, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Thailand, Canada, the USA, and Japan. Don’t miss the chance to witness how incredible a collaboration between a world-renowned opera singer and such an impressive choir can be. The evening will be guided by Dagmar Pecková.

The festival wouldn’t be complete without Jan Jirán’s play “Carmen y Carmen.” This was originally written for the very first edition of the festival. This year, it will be performed in Havlíčkův Brod Municipal Theatre on September 16, 2025, at 7 p.m. Two celebrated stars from different realms, opera singer Dagmar Pecková, and actress Bára Hrzánová, will join forces in a unique performance, each portraying the principal character from Bizet’s famous opera.
