Embark on a Scenic Steam Train Journey Through Bohemian Paradise

Historical train rides will take place through Bohemian Paradise on Saturday, August 23rd and 30th, 2025. The journey will follow the route from Turnov to Sedmihory, Hrubá Skála, Borek pod Troskami, Ktová, and end in Rovensko pod Troskami. Departures are scheduled at 9:51 and 11:43, returning from Rovensko back to Turnov at 13:51 and 15:25. The Ce “Rybák” carriages are pulled by the steam locomotive “Grandma 310.0134”. The steam train makes stops at all stations and halts along the way.
The “Babička” locomotive was initially called “Litovel”. It was built in 1913 by the First Czech-Moravian Engine Factory located in Libeň, meant for the local Litovel – Senice railway. After being nationalized in 1937 and rebranded as “310.0134”, it was operated at the Olomouc depot, and from 1951 to 1974 it worked in the sugar factory in Bedihost. After its closure in Česká Třebová and Kořenov, it was moved to Turnov in 1993. Restoration efforts began here, and by 2003, the locomotive was back in operation.
The two-axle original Ce series cars were manufactured by the Ringhoffer carriage companies between 1938 and 1949. In total, 809 cars were produced. Each third-class car features three small compartments and one large compartment with a hallway on the side. Its smooth operation is guaranteed by two single-axle Rybák chassis. Each car can seat 69 passengers. Additionally, there will be a refreshment car on board. You can also buy railway-themed souvenirs during the train ride. Tickets can be purchased directly on the train and must be paid in cash. Please note that travel documents and discounts from other transport operators will not be accepted on this historic train, and the One Ticket cannot be used either. The train will run under all weather conditions!
Where to go from the train on a trip?

You can also walk to the railway station in Borek pod Troskami, which is about 2 km away. Another option is to take a 4.5 km hike to Št’astná země via Borecké Rocks. From the square in the opposite direction, if you follow the blue trail, you can visit the Rovno bell tower with its upward-facing bells. If you set out from Rovno railway station, keep to the green markers, and you can reach Trosky Castle after a 4.5 km hike.
Borek pod Troskami – here, you can explore the motor museum that features a remarkable collection of historical motorcycles from various brands that were widely produced and used on roads in the Czech Republic and around the world during the 1930s to 1970s. This permanent exhibit showcases over 80 unique pieces.
Hrubá skála – from the railway station, you can walk to Doubravice, then to the Osudová rock tower and continuing on to the Hrubá skála castle, right into the heart of the Hrubá skála rock town.
Sedmihorky – you have the option to disembark at Sedmihorky and explore the former spa, trek to Jan’s lookout, and then make your way back to Hrubá skála or traverse the rock town towards Turnov.
Turnov – if time allows when you’re in Turnov, consider taking a leisurely stroll to the square or along the Jizera River to Dolánky, and don’t miss out on visiting Dlaskův farm. Here, you can also embark on the Golden Trail through the Bohemian Paradise, which leads you to Valdštejn Castle and the stunning Hruboskalské rock town.
