Join the Fun at Hoslovice Mill’s Harvest Festival This Saturday

On Saturday, August 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., everyone is invited to the mill in Hoslovice to enjoy a genuine village harvest festival! Visitors can look forward to craft demonstrations that showcase what life was like in the mill and the village. You will get to see traditional methods and learn how caring for grain leads to delicious bread. Local bakers Eva and Vasek will be there to show off their baking skills, and you’ll even have the chance to taste their creations. Expect to enjoy various types of bread, including bread cakes, rolls, and dalamans.Experience the past come to life as you watch corn threshing with flails and see how grain is separated using a threshing machine. You can even give it a try yourself! The ceremonial Harvest Wreath will be the festival’s highlight, happening at 1:00 p.m. Additionally, there will be a guided tour of the mill every hour, and one of the exciting features will be the mill wheel flying.

The event will feature the talented Písečan Folklore Ensemble. Curious attendees can also take part in a tour on different types of grain and flour to learn more about these essential materials. For the little ones, there will be fun activities like creative workshops and the joyful attraction known as “Mr. Miller’s battlefield“, guaranteed to create lots of laughter. For adults, there will be a craft market offering many delightful products, including homemade jams, gingerbread, sewn bags, handmade beads, beaded bracelets, wooden rakes, wire ornaments, cheeses, and many other unique items. This event will occur rain or shine, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission costs 80 CZK for adults and 40 CZK for children.
