Ignite Your Excitement at Video Mapping and Light Festivals!

Festival of Lights in Wallachian Mezirici

On Friday, September 19 2025, the seventh annual Festival of Lights will be held in the square in Valašské Meziříčí. This year, you can look forward to over thirty-five light installations and video mappings, along with 10 live performances, creating a visual spectacle that will brighten the surroundings. Expect stunning light displays and video presentations by talented artists and groups from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Hungary, and Poland. Local bands will provide the music. A short distance away, Žerotín Castle will again serve as the main stage for the largest video mapping show. The nearby streets, stretching from the castle to the market under the bridge, will be animated by thirty light installations created by leading Czech artists. Additionally, the Mint Market will take place in the parking lot at Poláškova 29, featuring unique fashion, jewelry, and design items. The event runs from 2 PM to 10 PM, and entry to the Světlo Valmez festival is free.

Pilsen in September 2025

Pilsen is set to present an extraordinary program in 2025, marking ten years since it was named the European Capital of Culture in 2015. During three days, from September 12 to 14, the city will celebrate light and culture at the Pilsen in September festival. The spectacular three-day event starts with a concert performed by the Belgian band The Rackers. Following that, the French theatre company Picto Facto will lead you through the city’s gardens with an engaging interactive show called Lampadophores, filled with singing and music. The street theater parade featuring light objects will make its way to the Republic Square. You will be mesmerized by 21 artists from the Spanish group Voalá Station, twelve of whom will even perform stunning acrobatics while suspended in the air from cranes.

Prague Signal Festival

For four nights in October, from October 16 to 19, 2025, the streets and public spaces of Prague, including its most famous historical sites and hidden gems, will be transformed during the Signal Festival. Czech and international light design experts will turn these spaces into artistic masterpieces, showcasing the many faces of modern and historic Prague. This year’s festival theme is “Solutions,” which will explore both technology and social issues. At this year’s Signal Festival, there will be two paths—one through the Old Town area and another in Vinohrady. Overall, twenty installations will light up the city, seven of which will be cleverly concealed behind the gates of the Gallery Zone. The Signal Inside part of the festival, which requires a ticket, will feature site-specific installations, a more mellow atmosphere, and a carefully curated selection of top-notch Czech and international artists. Attendees can look forward to interactive installations, performances, and one-of-a-kind locations that are usually not open to the public. Throughout the festival, there will also be a variety of art installations and an accompanying program, including a full-day conference and afterparties.

VARY° shines in September – but not until next year

Karlovy Vary has always lit up in the second weekend of September by hosting a Festival of Light called VARY°September. However, in 2025, it will take a break and come back even stronger in September 2026. This unique festival combines fascinating modern technologies with the stunning architecture of the spa town. Typically, the main route of the festival stretches from Smetana Sady to Císařské lázně, showcasing numerous light installations, static projections, videomapping, and other captivating shows.
