Savor Juicy Apples at Ctěnice Castle

Next year, the Ctěnice Apple Picking Festival will invite visitors to explore a variety of apple cider options and taste traditional Czech apple types from a local orchard’s harvest. You can engage in making cider and sample the delicious results. The Jarmark will also present refreshing cider produced in the Czech Republic, alongside apple-themed treats like homemade jams and syrups.
People of all ages should not overlook the chance to participate in creative workshops and enjoy various refreshment stalls. Additionally, all the castle displays will be completely free to explore. At the Apple Picking Festival, children will be entertained by the puppet show based on The Fountain and the Magic of the Forest, performed by the Hedárium Theatre. Meanwhile, you can relax while listening to the melodies of the Check Accordion Trio. For those feeling adventurous, there’s an opportunity to learn some historical dances from a Renaissance couple!
The history of Ctěnice Chateau goes back to the early 13th century. There is a record of a fortress from 1372, which was later transformed into a Renaissance chateau. The castle was nationalized in 1945 and, in 1993, it was handed over to the City of Prague. A complex renovation of the entire site was finished in 2008. This property includes the castle park, various outbuildings, and a riding hall. The fantastic cider-making, guided tastings of different varieties of apples, creative workshops, and Renaissance dance lessons occur in the castle park. Inside the Carriage House Hall, you can enjoy puppet shows and concerts.
