Visit the Chocolate and Marzipan Museum in Tábor

The Museum of Chocolate and Marzipan in Tábor is located in three historic buildings and spans over 1000 square meters, showcasing the history of chocolate. This museum tells the story of how chocolate is grown, imported to Europe, and processed into various forms like candies, tablets, pralines, and figurines. You can see impressive models made from chocolate and marzipan, including a life-size Mr. Bean and his car, a chocolate representation of Jaromir Jagr, the largest chocolate train in the country, a Hussite parade, dolls dressed in marzipan outfits, and even a depiction of hell where devils prepare chocolate, among other delightful experiences. In the workshops, visitors can create their own marzipan treats or work with chocolate, observe professional confectioners at work, or arrange for a guided tour that will share plenty of interesting chocolate information. The museum is open every day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.. Entrance is 270 CZK for adults and 180 CZK for children and seniors.

Engage in fun, interactive tasks while helping an archaeologist uncover the secrets of chocolate and watch a film that details how chocolate is produced. Don’t forget to visit the chocolate workshop to see how authentic Belgian pralines are crafted. Feeling hungry? You can taste different types of chocolate for free! The museum welcomes visitors every day from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Admission costs 290 CZK for adults, 199 CZK for children, or a family ticket at 650 CZK.

Enjoy chocolate and wine at the Old Castle

You can also visit the castle for delightful chocolate experiences, not just in the city. The fairytale-like Staré Hrady castle and chateau offer visitors a variety of chocolate treats nearly all year long. You can enjoy chocolates with diverse flavors and aromas. One of their signature creations is Drakulada, a chocolate that comes in both dark and milk varieties. For the adults, there is a wide selection of wines and meads available. Visitors can partake in a variety of experiences including four guided tours. One of these tours features a charming adventure trail called The Castle Fairy Tale Cellar, which allows you to explore at your own pace. In the Witch’s Beast area and Courtyard, you’ll encounter many live animals like white peacocks, golden pheasants, pigeons, rabbits, chickens, and even Cleophas the goat.

The Traditional Autumn Fair at the Troubelice Chocolate Factory invites you to join in on Saturday, October 18, 2025. You will find not only local chocolates and various products available for purchase, but also selected treats from regional producers. Enjoy family-friendly entertainment as admission is free. This quaint Chocolate Factory, nestled in the Haná region, operates on a former farm. The factory prides itself on using only cocoa beans, cocoa butter, and panela, the solidified juice from sugar cane. Every piece of Troubélic chocolate carries a taste of history from distant Ecuador and exotic regions of South America, paired with the dedication of a small Czech company focused on quality and personal touch.

Kutná Hora Comes Alive with the Chocolate Festival

Visit the historic center of Kutná Hora, a UNESCO World Heritage site, for the Festival of Honest Czech Chocolate, taking place from October 24 to 26, 2025. Besides a fair featuring not just chocolate, you can join tastings, attend lectures, and enjoy performances at theatres and concerts. There will also be creative workshops designed for children to explore their artistic abilities.
