Embark on a Fall Journey Through the Vineyards of Uherské Hradiště

Get ready for an exciting cycling experience through the vineyards of Uherské Hradiště! Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 4. This event is a special occasion that wraps up the cycling paths in the Uherské Hradiště region, featuring the final group ride for all cycling enthusiasts. Hikers are welcome, too, as there will be two designated hiking paths available. Enjoy a lovely journey through the beautiful Wine Country!

The winemakers are prepared to greet you with four cycling paths and two walking paths, allowing you to choose based on how far you want to go or the sights you’d like to see. If you’re unfamiliar with the area, don’t worry! The routes are easily identifiable by color, and each participant will receive a paid entry fee along with a link to the app that contains the routes. Additionally, there will be a bike guide available on each trail. If you prefer to enjoy the day offline, there will be guides – trackers present throughout the day to assist you. They can provide recommendations on dining spots or simply chat with you if you’d like. If you prefer to explore at your own pace, feel free to venture out alone. The winemakers will be available for tastings, which you might not normally have a chance to experience!

Participants in the cycling event can select from different names, lengths, and difficulty levels for the routes, as well as recommended stops along the way. While riding, you’ll have the chance to visit various locations like the Ride of the Kings area in Kunovice, Hruška Wine, Uherský Ostroh Castle, the Polešovice Wine Breeding Station, the Museum of Tupes Ceramics, Vlčnovské Búdy, Velehrad, the Centre of Slovak Traditions in Modrá, the Jalubí Windmill, the Museum of Hunters and Poachers in Babice, the Břestek Monument House No. 157, and many other points of interest.

In the afternoon, make sure to return to Masaryk Square in Uherské Hradiště on time, as there will be a raffle with prizes for everyone. Once you’re off your bikes, be sure to stop by the wine market. You can also enjoy a concert as part of the cultural festivities. Later in the evening, continue the fun by visiting one of the open wine cellars to soak in the unique atmosphere of Slovácko!

Routes for cyclists and pedestrians: Muscat, Riesling, Rulanda, Cistercians, and Sadská

So, what trips can you embark on? There are a total of Six different routes available: the oldest ones are named after local wine types—Muscat of Moravia Trail (37.6 km with a 222 m elevation gain, marked in orange) and Pinot Blanc (36.6 km, elevation gain of 287 m, marked in blue). The Riesling – Královská route was added later, measuring 53 km with an elevation increase of 320 m, marked in red. If you choose the “In the Footsteps of the Cistercians” cycling paths, you will not only get to stop by winemakers but also learn some history, especially around Velehrad, which is 29 km long with an elevation gain of 207 m, marked in green. The Sadská Trail is the second route not named after a specific wine type; rather, it takes its name from the district it runs through. This is a hiking trail, spanning 11 km with a 110 m elevation gain and designed for “hikers” and families with children. It is marked in burgundy color. The second walking route, known as the historical Old Town Trail, stretches 16 kilometers with about 100 meters of elevation gain. It will only be marked in the map navigation and guidebook, shown in grey color. This trail takes you through Velehrad, Modrá, and the Old Town.

Adult starter package costs 150 Kč if purchased online (or 200 Kč on-site). This includes: the participation fee, a link to the map application, a wine sample, a raffle ticket, and a 10% discount on a bottle of wine at the winery.
