The Vicente-Dikeman-Jones-Drake Quartet stands as a premier ensemble within the international free jazz landscape, drawing inspiration from the vibrant American jazz tradition of the 1960s. This dynamic group features expressive soloists well-established in the European scene, alongside two legendary figures from New York – the acclaimed double bassist Brad Jones and the remarkable drummer Hamid Drake.
MAESTRO PLÁCIDO DOMINGO: In autumn 2025, the scenic city of Prague will host a splendid musical event, marking the long-awaited debut of the iconic opera star Maestro Plácido Domingo at the renowned Dvořák Hall of the Rudolfinum. On the memorable evening of 16 October 2025, attendees can expect an enchanting performance filled with emotion, sophistication, and a touch of historical significance, featuring renowned operatic arias composed by Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini, and Camille Saint-Saëns, along with vibrant Spanish zarzuelas celebrating Domingo’s rich heritage.
This year’s eagerly anticipated Prague Sounds 2025 music festival, a delight for music lovers for many years, kicks off on 1 November 2025. It promises a unique lineup that you won’t find elsewhere, featuring talents like Silvana Estrada, the celebrated Mexican singer-songwriter and Grammy winner; vocalist Arooj Aftab, who masterfully blends Pakistani melodies with jazz; and the extraordinary jazz vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant, a Grammy recipient known for pushing genre boundaries. One of the standout aspects of the Prague festival is its performances held in some of the city’s finest venues! Concerts will take place at the prestigious Rudolfinum, which enforces a dress code, as well as popular spots like La Fabrika and Lucerna Music Bar.
Czech Philharmonic & Velvet Revolution Anniversary
If classical music is more your style, don’t miss the breathtaking concerts by the Czech Philharmonic, an outstanding ensemble based in Prague. They perform regularly throughout the year at the Rudolfinum, their beloved venue. However, in honor of the significant anniversary of the Velvet Revolution, on 16 and 17 November 2025, the Czech Philharmonic will present two remarkable concerts that you won’t want to miss.
